Community physiotherapy: Why we love it!
We come to you
You tell us where you'd like to have your appointments.
At home? At the pool? The riverside bike path? Many clients prefer to have their therapy sessions at home. There's less hassle, no need to get ready, travel, or find parking. Save energy by being at home, ready and waiting for your therapist to arrive.
Real life practice
No bias, but this is probably our favourite. You see, home exercises don't have to be repetitive or boring!
We love to add teaching moments to your daily routine.
Sit to stand practice can be from your bed, the car or your favourite chair.
Want to make your own coffee? Let's practice! We can focus on balance, upper limb exercises and endurance.
Need to feed the dog? That’s the perfect opportunity to practice walking, standing, bending and hand control.
Sick of doing strength exercises at home? Let’s get you to the gym! We love setting gym programs that are engaging and at the right challenge level for you.
At home or in the community, we prescribe exercises that will help you achieve your everyday goals.
Tailored therapy support
Our physiotherapists tailor your therapy program to you and your life.
We listen. We take the time to understand you, your strengths, interests and barriers. Your home, daily life, workplace and community are all considered when planning for your goals.
Our team uses evidence-based approaches, meaning your physio program is both best practice and tailored to suit your individual needs, so you get the maximum benefits from your sessions.
We're part of your village
We share your therapy strategies with family members, carers or anyone else in your daily life.
By sharing our skills and techniques with your daily support network, it means functional practice can occur every day, so you have more opportunities to develop the skills you need.
We connect with care coordinators, hospitals, health services or support agencies to ensure you have the supports you need to achieve your goals.
Want to see what community-based physiotherapy is all about?
You can self-refer to physiotherapy services. This means you can skip the visit to a health professional for a referral!
We work with clients aged 16 years and older. NDIS, TAC, Home Care Package or private referrals accepted.
Your Allied Therapy Services therapist will conduct an initial assessment and create a customised plan to ensure your therapy sessions are tailored to your needs and goals.
