Neurological conditions can be complex to navigate. Our team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Speech Pathologists have the additional skills, knowledge and experience to support clients living with a neurological condition to achieve their goals.

Who we work with
Management of neurological conditions can be supported by Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech Pathology to; improve your quality of life, learn a new skill, maintain, or regain function and reconnect with your community.
We work with individuals, their families and support workers in their home and local community, meaning we come to your for your appointments.
Our OTs, Physios and Speech Pathologists tailor your therapy program precisely to you. Your home environment, personal life, workplace and community details are all considered when planning for your goals. Our team will then apply evidence-based approaches to your therapy, meaning your therapy program is both best practice and tailored to suit your individual needs, so you get the maximum benefits from your sessions.
Our neurological therapy team can work with clients living with a broad range of neurological conditions;
Cerebral palsy
Brain injury (acquired brain injury or traumatic brain injury)
Spinal cord injury
Dementia (including early onset dementia)
Progressive neurological conditions including; multiple sclerosis (MS), motor neurone disease (MND), Parkinson's disease (PD), muscular dystrophy, or Huntington's disease.
Working collaboratively to support clients
We understand the importance of collaboration and build teams with and around our clients. Your team may include therapists across OT, Physio and Speech Pathology here at Allied Therapy Services or other members of your health care team.
Many of our neurological clients are also linked with a local medical or therapy provider or support service specific to their diagnosis. Our neuro therapy team will link in with these local providers, to ensure you have continuity of care. From participating in telehealth team meetings or arranging specialist equipment trials, your Allied Therapy Services therapist works collaboratively as part of your greater team, family or support workers, to ensure the best support plans are in place, so you can reach your goals.
Community-based neurological therapy support
Home or community-based therapy shows our team how someone communicates, moves or interacts with their surroundings during real-life situations. It means we can gain a greater insight into what it is like for you in your day-to-day life. This helps us better understand when and where our therapy support can be most effective.
Your OT, Physio or Speech Pathologist will come to where you need them. At home? At the pool? Your own gym? Your workplace? The riverside bike path? The social group at the pub? You tell us where you'd like to have your appointments and sessions.
Many clients prefer to have their therapy sessions at home. There's less hassle, no need to get ready, travel, and find parking; you just need to be at home ready and waiting for your therapist to arrive. Plus, it gives you more time to do the things you love!
Highly skilled therapists
Our therapy support is delivered to you only by qualified and experienced Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Speech Pathologists. Our team are registered and governed by their professional organisations; the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
Our therapists have worked anywhere between 2 and 30 years in their field. They have likely worked with a similar condition, problem or goal before and if they haven't, they are not afraid to seek support from their networks to learn how to best support you.
An experienced therapist can quickly gauge what is working or not working, then upgrade the challenge or adapt the task when it is not.
They have a higher level of clinical reasoning and can weigh up the pros and cons of a therapy solution or equipment choice. Plus, they have the confidence to say no if they think something may not work, making our team more efficient overall so you can reach your goals sooner!
Rest easy knowing that you have a suitably qualified expert in your corner, working to support your quality of life.
