Our therapy team works collaboratively with clients on their recovery after a road accident. We work with individuals, their families and support networks in their home or local community, or in simple terms, we come to you.  

We take pride in supporting clients to return to their communities. Our team provide ongoing assessments and planning with clients to ensure we are supporting your goals across your recovery journey from leaving hospital to returning to work or the things you love.  

Our team takes the time to understand you, your strengths, interests, and barriers to develop a therapy plan that is tailored to your personal goals to ensure you get the most out of your therapies. 

PLEASE NOTE: We work with clients aged 16 and over. You will need prior approval from your TAC Support Coordinator to access our services.

Services and Supports for TAC Clients: 

Occupational Therapy

  • Setup of assistive technology and environmental controls  

  • Cognitive strategies and training  

  • Home and community assessments and therapy (self-care, meal preparation, household tasks, accessing the community) 

  • Home assessments and recommendations for home modifications 

  • Equipment prescription, including seating systems, wheelchairs  

  • Falls prevention and management  

  • Support to (re)join the community and community participation. 

Physiotherapy

  • Home-based exercise programs

  • Falls prevention, balance assessments and recommendations.

  • Mobility assessment (transfers from sitting and walking, indoors or outdoors)

  • Gait aid assessment and prescription

  • Equipment prescription, including seating systems, wheelchairs

  • Functional gait re-education

  • Hydrotherapy/aquatic physiotherapy

  • Assistance with returning to sport and recreational activities

Speech Pathology

  • Swallowing (dysphagia) assessments and recommendations

  • Cognitive communication assessments and therapy

  • Alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) aids

  • Support to (re)join the community and community participation.

Where can I access your therapy support? 

We'll come where you need us. At home? At the pool? Your own gym? Your workplace? The riverside bike path? You tell us where you'd like to have your appointments and sessions. 

Many clients prefer to have their therapy sessions at home. There's less hassle, no need to get ready, travel, and find parking; you just need to be at home ready and waiting for your therapist to arrive. Plus, it gives you more time to do the things you love!

How do I refer to Allied Therapy Services? 

Please NOTE: We work with clients aged 16 and over. You will need prior approval from your TAC support coordinator to access our services. 

You can then self-refer to our services. We accept referrals via our online referral form.

If you require assistance filling in our referral form online, you can call our friendly administration team on (03) 5292 8020 and they can assist you in completing your referral.
