Occupational Therapist: Bendigo

New role! Ongoing full-time or part-time opportunity (22.5 to 37.5 hours per week)

Suited to a Grade 2 or 3 OT (or equivalent)

$96,000 – $134,800 per year including super (pro-rata based on hours worked).

Be valued, supported and appreciated at work!

  • We trust you to do your job (even when no one is looking!)

  • We value true work-life balance & employ great authentic people

  • We say thank you & have your back when you need it.

We’re a growing business, on the lookout for a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist (OT) in the Bendigo region to join our team in an autonomous, but well supported role. In this role, you'll provide quality occupational therapy services to a mixed caseload of Allied Therapy Services clients across the Bendigo & Goldfields communities.

While you don’t need to have worked in a community-based OT role before, ideally, you have had 2-years on the job experience working with clients who live with physical or cognitive disability, a neurological condition or are experiencing age-related changes.

If you're looking to make the jump from public health, we provide additional onboarding support to therapists who are transitioning from public health into the private sector (see we have your back!).

NOTE: Unfortunately at this time we are unable to sponsor candidates from overseas for this role.

Our Bendigo team

  • We have a bright and airy office space in central Bendigo! Pop in for informal office catch ups or to find a quiet space to get your notes done.

  • Work collaboratively with our team of experienced Speechies, Physios & OTs. And bonus for you, our Bendigo Team Leader is an OT and one of our OT Clinical Leads is based in Bendigo!

About your new role

As an OT at Allied Therapy Services, your day could include:

  • Starting your day with coffee & emails at home before venturing out to see your first client of the day.

  • Visiting a client in their home to review progress & help them achieve their goals.

  • Getting out and about in the community. OT in the community can be creative and fun! Cooking a favourite meal in a client's kitchen, real life scooter trials around the lake, catching the bus to practice community access or working with a client to achieve their goals in their own environment.

  • Touching base with your Team Leader for a debrief and chat about your caseload.

  • Providing education and training to clients, their family and/or carers to help them continue your therapy program in the home.

  • Calling into the Bendigo office for a cup of tea & quiet moment to complete your notes & write any reports.

  • Jumping online to participate in a client care team meeting.

  • Attending a joint assessment or therapy session with one of our experienced Physios or Speech Pathologists.

  • Popping into a Teams meeting with our OT Clinical Leads and other OTs across our teams to share learnings and knowledge, ask questions and seek support or share in professional development learnings.

  • Liaising with support coordinators, local area coordinators, or others in your clients support network to discuss their progress, goals and to work together to help overcome any barriers.

  • Taking part in a Bendigo team meeting or bi-monthly lunch, listening to the latest in-house clinical podcast or our professional development program.

  • Finishing super early on a Friday as you have achieved your clinical targets for the week. (Yes, really!)

Join our team and you’ll enjoy;

  • Working for a well-established, community-based allied health provider with a strong referrer base ensuring a consistent & interesting mixed caseload of clients.

  • A structured 6-week clinical supervision and team support program built specifically for Allied Therapy Services new starters .

  • Ongoing professional development support, guided by a dedicated clinical lead from your discipline.

  • Regular and easily accessible day-to-day support provided by your Team Leader and collaborative peer network.

  • A genuine focus & value on work life balance. Family friendly & flexible working arrangements.

  • An amazing team & organisation culture. We strongly value team culture and focus on building teams who value one another and who enjoy working together.

  • Reasonable, achievable & flexible billable expectations.
